My hero is Samuel Adams. Samuel Adams was an early and important leader of Boston in resisting the British government in the 1760s and 1770s. He was one of the organizers of the Sons of Liberty, signed the Declaration of Independence, and became the Governor of Massachusetts.

He was born in Boston on September 27, 1722. His farther was a brewer. He graduated and received his masters degree from Harvard University, where he wrote a paper on resisting governments that abuse the rights of the citizens. He was unsuccessful as a brewer, businessman, and tax collector, but he was an excellent politician.

In 1764 Samuel Adams, along with John Hancock, was elected to the Massachusetts assembly. His cousin, John Adams, described him as "zealous, ardent and keen in the cause." He was passionate about people's rights and was never motivated by money. He wrote essays persuading other Bostonians to resist the illegal actions of the parliament. Some believe he was involved in the protest. He was one of the organizers of the first committees of correspondence in 1772. When British troops first clashed with the local militia, Adams was a leader in Continental Congress and advocated independence.

Adams became lieutenant governor of Massachusetts under John Hancock from 1789 to 1793. When Hancock passed away, Adams became the governor until he retired in 1797. He died on October 2, 1803. Samuel Adams was a revolutionary hero, a Founding Father of our nation.

He inspired me because I would want to work together and stop war and have independence.
