"Typical business books are definitely not written by a former dumpster-diving shoplifter. Then again Sophia Amoruso, the CEO of online fashion site Nasty Gal and author of the new book #GIRLBOSS, is not your typical CEO" (McGregor). Sophia Amoruso, is definitely not your typical CEO. She doesn't come from rich parents and doesn't have a college degree, but she is still the founder of a $100 million dollar company. Sophia Amoruso was born on April 20, 1984, in San Diego, CA. She is the founder and owner of Nasty Gal, which sells women's fashion including modern and vintage clothing, shoes and accessories for young women. She has turned Nasty Gal into a multimillion dollar fashion company, not ever wanting to take the traditional route in her company or in her life. She didn't care about what other people thought about her and was always true to herself. A hero must be someone who is selfless and determined, and without these traits it is hard for people to look up to you. Selfless is being concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with your own. A hero that is determined is someone who nevers stops until they know they have made a change. A hero must possesses many physical traits such as being selfless and determined, and that is just who Sophia Amoruso is.

Someone who is selfless is definitely a hero because they put others before themselves. In 2014 Sophia Amoruso came out with her original business book named #GirlBoss. The book received the Goodreads Choice Awards Best Business Books and was also given many positive reviews. The Washington Post said "Sort of a lean in for misfits, it offers young women a candid guide to starting a business and going after what they want" (McGregor). Around the world, people were inspired by Sophia Amoruso's advise in her book. It encouraged young women to be powerful and go after what they want. This book helps women in the business world because she focused on the mistakes she made, so other women won't make the same ones. She never stops wanting to help her reader, just like she did in an interview with Forbes Magazine. Amoruso told her consumers and readers that "1. Don't even start if you're not ready to work all day, every day, for the foreseeable future. 2. It doesn't get easier, but you do get smarter. 3. Treat everyone with respect and expect to learn something from everyone" (Schawbel). Sophia Amoruso is the definition of selfless, because she spends the most time in interviews talking about her fans compared to anything else. She never stops giving advice to her fan base, which she calls #Girlbosses. She also always encourages women to succeed and be powerful so they can be even better #Girlbosses out in the real world. As well as supporting her fan base, Sophia Amoruso never stops giving advice to young women everywhere to not let men over empower you. She states, "One important thing is to act as if you aren't the only woman in the room. Act as if your voice is heard. Act as if you're a CEO even when you don't know a balance sheet from a bed sheet" (Schawbel). Amoruso believes all her customers can reach their highest potential and to fake it till they make it. Due to the fact that there is not normally a lot of women entrepreneurs, Sophia wanted to be that voice for young women out in the business world. She wants all of customers/readers to work hard and be proud that they are a women out in the business world. Sophia Amoruso's selflessness makes her the ultimate hero because her customers and readers have become her number one priority and she will do anything to help them succeed.

People who are determined don't stop until they know they have made a positive change, just like Sophia Amoruso. Sophia Amoruso makes many positive changes in her book #Girlboss. She says, "You don't get taken seriously by asking someone to take you seriously. You've got to show up and own it. If this is a man's world, who cares? I'm still really glad to be a girl in it" (Amoruso). Sophia Amoruso is a hero because she inspires many to be true to ourselves and be proud of who we are. In her book, she talks about how even if we live in a man's world, women can be just as great, just as successful and just as powerful. Maybe even more. She is living proof that women can be taken seriously in the business world. When Amoruso first came out with her book she also decide to create a foundation. "She's also launched a foundation awarding grants to young women entrepreneurs" (Klich). The foundation has awarded over $75,000 in financial grants to women all over the world. The grants are for women pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors. As well as financial aid, each grant awarded gives exposure through Nasty Gal. The #Girlboss foundation aims to empower creative women to take over the world. When Sophia Amoruso first started her company she was alone in her bedroom with her Mac computer, but even then she was determined to be the best. She said, "There is a certain freedom to being an outsider. You do what you what, say what you want, and move on when you've worn out your welcome. In the past seven years, I've gone from being a nobody with no job and no insurance to someone who is seen as a leader and a role model" (Amoruso). Sophia Amoruso also tells her readers that it is okay to be different and an outsider. Not every successful person in the world comes from rich parents and has a college degree. If you are determined and hardworking you can be just as great. She encouraged young women to be different than everyone else and if they stick to what they believe in good things might come from that. Sophia wanted to inspire young women to be empowered and take charge and that is just what a determined hero does.

Someone who possesses many physical traits such as being selfless and determined is a hero, and that is just who Sophia Amoruso is. Sophia Amoruso didn't care about what other people thought about her and was always true to herself. She started her company by herself and has made it into one of the fastest growing retailers. Sophia never thought that this would be her life because she had no health insurance, no business experience, and no job. But now, seven years later she always stops to talk to her fans, she made a foundation for aspiring women entrepreneurs, and she is still the founder of a multimillion dollar company. She did this all at the age of thirty-one. She inspires young women everywhere to never give up, stick to what you believe in, and most importantly change is good. Sophia Amoruso believed in what she was doing and even though no one else did. She didn't know that she would be a successful as she is today, but she never said never. Sophia Amoruso is an inspiration and a hero to me and women everywhere because she never gave up when things were hard and everyday she fights to help women be more powerful in the business world.
