"Failure is impossible" -Susan B. Anthony. The quote above means/shows that a hero is a person who always tries, and even if they didn't make it to their accomplishment they still did something. My hero is Susan B. Anthony because without her women wouldn't be where we are today.
My Hero is Larger Than Life. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton managed to change the law so that women can vote. She never gives up, she keeps striving even when the outlook doesn't seem good. She would do anything for her cause, even get arrested. During the Woman's Right Movement a lot of people put her down, and didn't support her because it wasn't the "norm". The characteristics she had makes a hero.
My Hero Went on a Journey. Something important that you have to understand is during Susan B. Anthony's time period females were not given the same voice, or rights as a male; they didn't have a say in almost anything! The reason women can actually say "I have a voice in America" is because Susan wanted equal pay for women teachers, and college education. When the Sons of Temperance refused to admit women into their movement, she organized the first woman's temperance association. During her journey she had to face obstacles. 1. The presiding judge opposed woman's suffrage and wrote his decision before the trial even had started. -Political 2. No she was quite healthy, until she got pneumonia and died from heart failure. But in 1906 that was the leading cause of death. -Physical 3. Most males didn't approve of a female going against what was "right". -Social
My Hero Accomplished Something for Her People. Her "people" were the people volunteering in her movement, and woman who wanted a say in America. Susan B. Anthony achieved the right for woman to vote. Without this achievement woman would still be objected to follow every choice a man made, and "hide behind" their voice. The world didn't expect anything of woman, but Susan B. Anthony proved them all wrong. One woman can and will make a difference.
Conclusion (Why does this Hero inspire you?) Susan B. Anthony inspired me because she did what no one thought was possible in her time period. Just because she wanted equal pay for women teachers, and college education. When the Sons of Temperance refused to admit women into their movement, she organized the first woman's temperance association. You could tell from the beginning she wasn't going to give up easily on her cause, to anyone. Not even the cops, she showed them that in 1872 she led a group of women to the polls in Rochester, N.Y., to test the right of women to the franchise under the terms of the Fourteenth Amendment. Her arrest, trial, and sentence to a fine (which she refused to pay) were a cause. She changed the world for woman. So that's why "Failure is impossible."
