Susan B was born on February 15, 1820, as Susan Brownell Anthony in Adams, Massachusetts. She was born to Daniel Anthony and Lucy Read, who were activists at the time, so she grew up learning that everyone was equal, no matter what their race or gender was. Susan B. Anthony was raised in a family of 6. And her father and mother treated everyone in the family as equals. Seeing how her family treated women and how others did, she noticed a very different world outside of her home. She dedicated her life to fight for other women, and make everyone's lives equal.
Susan B. Anthony did things for people that others wouldn't dare to do. She went against the law just to prove women are just equal as men. She would not let men push her around. She would not be told what to do. And she would not stop until she changed the way women were treated. When she was a teacher she was paid less than what the men were paid. This drove her to fight for equal pay among men, women, and African Americans. Susan B. Anthony is a hero in our eyes for her amazing accomplishments to help other people.
Susan B. Anthony was elected president of the Women's Suffrage Association. Their drive was to create equal rights for women. She traveled to lecture about what she believed in. In 1851 Susan was introduced to Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Elizabeth was an organizer of the Seneca Falls Convention in upstate New York. This is where she was introduced to the controversial resolution in support of women's suffrage. (Women on 20s) They worked together and formed a fifty year partnership. Together they fought to stop women suffrage. Susan B. Anthony was not going to just say she wanted suffrage to end. She went against society's norm to fight for other women. Susan B. Anthony decided that just saying she wanted equal rights wasn't enough. In 1872 she decided to vote. Yes, she voted illegally to show everyone that woman have a say in the decisions our country makes. She was fined $100, for voting illegally, which doesn't sound like a lot in today's standards, but in 1872 it could be worth up to $1,740.60 in current USD. She refused to pay the fine because it wasn't something someone should be fined for. After this many women saw that they were just as equal as men, and should be able to contribute to the decisions that their country made.

Susan B. Anthony went against society just to show women that they are just as equal as men. She wanted to show that women have a right to do things men can do. She changed the world. She, in our eyes is a hero to ALL people. A hero is someone who changed the world in a good way. Anyone can be a hero if you do something good for someone else. Standing up for someone could make you a hero to that person. Any little thing can be a big deed for people who need it. Susan B. Anthony is our hero because she left a great impact on the world. We know she was one of many to stand up for women's rights, but she did things other people were afraid to do. She voted illegally, she petitioned on several causes, and did many other things to show she was not going to be unequal to men. Now woman all have equal rights, and we know that she contributed to the fact very much.
