Stephen Wardell Curry

by Ethan from Great Falls Middle School

My Hero, Stephen Wardell Curry, is an NBA Basketball athlete. People thought in high school that he was too small, not that big, and not strong. Stephen Curry lives in a very famous state, California. He made a difference in my life in many ways and one of them is just by watching him play. Finally, Stephen Curry is important to me in many ways, and I will talk more about that. Stephen Curry should be a hero for many basketball fans, he is a great athlete, and a nice person.

Stephen Curry lives in California, the Golden State. Stephen Curry actually has just purchased a 3.2 million dollar house is Walnut Creek, CA. Curry was actually born in Akron, Ohio, just like Lebron James. The weird part is that he went to a high school in Charlotte, and then played for Golden State Warriors. He had to move a lot of times before he turned 27, he is 27 now in 2016. Right now, he lives with his wife, Ayesha Curry, and she's a model. Also, they have one daughter and one son. The son was just born, and the daughter was born three years ago. So as you can see, he now lives in California, a great state.

This hero made a difference in my life because he was the first person to actually inspire me into getting better at basketball. Also, whenever I'm at my grand-parents house, I always stare at ESPN until the Golden State Warriors play a basketball team. Stephen Curry has been my hero since 2008, that was when I saw him play with Davidson. I was surprised to see play so well which made me even more interested because I never really knew who he was. I never knew he was looking to be picked in the lottery for the draft. I never knew he was the one to lead the team, and I also never knew he would end up being a great NBA player. I watched him go all the way to the elite eight when they lost to Kansas Jayhawks. I also watched a full NBA draft for the first time. I usually just wait until my favorite players were chosen and then switch the channel. Also, he helped me to practice more at basketball and get better at it. Whenever I needed help, I would watch how he played. I tried to find any tips and tricks on Youtube starring Stephen Curry himself. Overall, Stephen Curry made a difference in my life just by him playing basketball.

Stephen Curry is important to me because he is not a quitter even in hard times. When he went into the NBA, I found out about his foot injuries, and I almost fell apart, because I thought his career was done. He kept coming back, and that's when I realized, this man is not a quitter. He keeps trying, even if he breaks all his bones or if his team is down by 30 points, he never gives up. When I saw his determination in him, I started to do the same. I never gave up, even if I was hurting. I've been watching him ever since. He is also important to me because he is a nice person. I say this because he stands up for many things like human rights, cancer, and injured people. Also, he doesn't say, "I am the best, no one can stop me." He keeps those thoughts to himself, and he helps out his teammates. He makes a great friendship with them, and that makes me happy to see that. Curry made me a good basketball player, and I'm 14. I still haven't stopped watching him and I believe that Stephen Curry will one day be in the hall of fame. He will be one of the best, he will be a top player, and he will be my Hero forever. I know he tied for the most three pointer made in one game. I know he might not get MVP every season, but he will get a lot. I also know that he will break the best record in NBA history, set by Michael Jordan in 1996, 72-10. Stephen Curry is a great player, and I study him, I keep wondering, who is this man? Many people may ask that, and not put into detail on how great he is. Curry is like a god who transformed into a basketball player, he's that light that shines out of the cloud, and he is the sun's rays. So my question is, Who in the world is this person? That's simple, my hero. He's humble, determined, and he inspires other people. Overall, a great role model.

As I said before, Curry is my hero. The hero that will never change, the hero that won't give up. Curry is one of the best basketball players, and he won't stop. I know a lot of people who say, "You never met him, so stop being dramatic." I don't need to know him, all that matters is that I found someone who is my hero, and someone I still wonder and ask myself this question, "Who is this person?"
