Steve Jobs

by Neil from Boulder

What is a hero? Some people might say he/she is someone that sacrifices themselves for the greater good. I personally believe in this definition and think that that is a good definition for a hero, but i also believe a hero has to be determined and make good decisions. That's why Steve Jobs is my hero. he showed me that to accomplish something you have to work hard at it, it won't just be handed to you on a silver platter.

Steve built Apple from the ground up with his partner Steve Wozniak, an engineer who was making personal computers in his garage. Jobs and Wozniak literally started a company that is now worth 651.5 billion dollars in their garage with 5 other employes who just put the computers together. When Steve first started on the Apple project he was determined to get investors interested in the first all-in-one personal computer. "Mike" Markkula, Jr. was the first investor in the Apple project and second CEO of Apple. He provided funding for the Apple II. At this point in time Steve was starting to have a dream of a huge company that Apple now is today, and he would do anything to make this dream come true. When Apple was starting to get big, a new product was introduced to him, the Macintosh computer. Steve bought this new company and then started to perfect the Macintosh. It is now one of the most beautiful and simple computers on the market. He worked hard and almost went insane but he accomplished his goal to make Apple a huge company.

Steve never retired, and became a billionaire. Wozniak left Apple and now owns the Seattle Seahawks. And Apple is still one of the biggest companies in the world. Steve changed the world and he showed that if you want to be successful in life you have to fight for it. Steve was born on February 24, 1955 and died on October 5, 2011.
