A hero is a compassionate person who helps people, animals, and maybe habitats too. I know one person who does two or three of those. He is Scott Lope, 2009 Hero of the Year! Scott helps big cats at the Big Cat Rescue. Scott really made a difference. He helps big cats that are abandoned, neglected, and orphaned. Some people think lions, tigers, and other big cats are savages. Well, turns out they aren’t! They are just like giant "kitty pets."

They attack people because:
1: They want to protect the group
2: They are scared
3: They are very hungry

Scott Lope is one of the few people who respect big cats. He is the Big Cat King! He worked for twelve to fifteen hours for at least ten years! Wow he worked really hard! After all that work he founded the Big Cat Rescue. Now there are a lot of people supporting the organization. He is a real hero. The rescue wants the world to be free of abandoned, neglected, and orphaned big cats. His vision is to live in peace with lions, tigers, and other big cats. With your help the Big Cat Rescue can do a lot to change the world.
