When you think about the pound and the abuse that goes on with animals, how does it make you feel? Animals have feelings too. They have a heart just like all of us. Even if you do hate animals don’t you have enough heart to feel bad for them and want to help stop the abuse and pain they go through everyday? I know I do. For about 25 years my family has helped and donated money to the ASPCA. Not just because we love animals, we believe that they need us just like we all need parents to take care of us when we are young. I was especially inspired by the TV advertisement featuring Sarah McLauchlan's song Angel for the ASPCA organization. They show images of sick and abused animals that is touching and sad.

The singer and supporter Sarah McLauchlan is a Canadian musician. Unlike other musicians she became very successful in less then two years, and she was found at the age of seventeen playing at a short- lived rock band called The October Game. She was born January 28, 1968 and adopted in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a child she took voice lessons and studied guitar and piano. What really caught my eye about her was how she made her dreams come true after being adopted and later facing the death of her mom in 2001. Her heart is so strong and it shows through her music, that really inspires me.

I feel strongly abut the charities for animal welfare because animals do not have a voice they cant explain how they feel. They need people like Sarah and many others to help. They have all the rights to be happy just like us. They need protection and security and most of all love. Animals are always there for us no matter how we treat them they are always your best friend. Even when there is no one else there they are. But people take them for granted. We have the power to give these animals what they deserve.

The ASCPA organization had a story about a 16 week old black lab. After reading it made me so angry. How could someone be so mean? The 16 week old black lab was found in a diaper box. A man who was putting air in his tires had heard a soft whimper. When he opened the diaper box he found the dog, his eyes, nose, ears and throat had PVC glue. The dog had struggled and made many attempts to free himself and open his little eyes. The puppy had no control. He probably laid there thinking what he did to deserve what was going on. This dog Buddy will always be in my heart. And just from this story I will always fight against the abuse of animals. It's just not right.

Its amazing how much celebrities make a difference. The one advertisement Sarah McLauchlan recently shot has just raised 30 million dollars since 2006. Think about how much that is. Think about how many animals were saved because of them

Through Sarah's words in her song and the display of the advertisement has brought so many people to help. It's opened up those who had not been touched by the pain and suffering animals go through everyday. Almost 1,00 dogs or cats are harmed, injured and fighting every single day. They suffer from having no home, food, water, diseases and much more. But through Sarah's words and appearance we can and have made a change.

Not only has Sarah helped with the ASCPA she has also supported the Tsunami disaster telethon and has done a benefit concert in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Because of Sarah McLauchlan's powerful and moving song along with the pictures in the advertisement has really sent a powerful message across the world. It’s as if her voice was speaking for millions and millions of helpless animals. It has been so effective that millions of dollars have been raised and more to come. How can someone not be moved by such a touching advertisement and charity. She made people realize the world's cruelty and has fought it with her love. Therefore we all should do the right thing and help stop the abuse and fight for the animals lives that are being taken everyday.
