Stephenie Meyer’s series of “Twilight” all came from a dream she had about Edward and Bella one night. That’s crazy! Stephenie is my all time favorite author, and because of this, I did some research on her in “Biography Today”.

Stephenie Meyer was born on December 24, 1973, in Hartford, Connecticut. Fortunately, she is still living. She was raised by her biological parents, Stephen and Candy Morgan. Her dad, Stephen, named her Stephenie because he liked the idea of putting an ie at the end of his name for his daughter’s name. Stephenie was the second of six children. She had big plans to go to law school, but she ended up falling in love with Christiaan Meyer. And after that, her entire life changed. They got married and had three children; Gabe, Seth, and Eli.

School was very important to Stephenie and her family. She attended high school in Scottsdale, Arizona at Chaparral High. When she had graduated from there in 1992, she had won a National Merit Scholarship. After a lot of thinking, she chose to go to a Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

When Stephenie first started writing about her dream she had, she had no desire to get it published. In fact, she was just writing about it because she loved the dream so much. But, one day she decided to give her sister the original copy named “Forks” for her birthday, and her sister loved it so much that she talked Stephenie into trying to get it published. She sent her book to many companies and most turned her down or didn’t answer. Finally, Little, Brown said he would give it a look. Later many companies were fighting over Stephenie’s book “Forks”, but she decided to take Brown’s final offer at 750,000, for a series of the book and movies. He then changed the title to something a bit more interesting, “Twilight”. And that’s where it all began.

Who knew that such a normal women with normal dreams would become such a famous author? The things Stephenie Meyer had accomplished amaze me in so many ways. She is now known as many people’s hero because of her fantastic books. I hope to see that some day she will use her wonderful talent to write a different series of books as well.
