| Sylvia O'Leary |
Ever since I was barely walking, I was putting colors and shapes together. I wanted to find a career that I was able to design and be artistic with. I met this lady named Sylvia O’Leary and my first impression of her was that she had a distinctive style and was wild. I later found out that she was an interior designer and used her artistic gift to beautify homes so they could be sold. I got her talking about her career and she told me how much she loves her job and that it’s a reward itself to be doing something she loves.
Sylvia O’Leary is a stage planner for homes that are on the market. She goes into a house and she embellishes the house so they could be sold. She interprets her own style and ideas to make a house magnificent. Sylvia attended ITT Technical Institute in New York and majored in merchandise. When she stages a house in a rich community, she will get a profit of three thousand dollars to four thousand dollars.
Sylvia was always a bubbly, well dressed teenager. She had remarkable social skills as a young person and that helps her tremendously as an interior designer now. Also, Sylvia had an artistic talent as a young person that allows her to take something so plain and make it unbelievable. During school, Sylvia worked in a clothing store that helped her with her fashion skills and she was voted “Best Dressed” in high school. In college, Sylvia majored in merchandise. After college, she started up her own business called “Staged to Sell” and her business kept getting bigger each year.
Sylvia does a lot of charity work. She has been the team mom for her son’s football team ever since he first started playing flag football. She organizes and decorates all the team parties and functions at no cost. Sylvia decorated rooms for a lunch-in for single moms and makes them feel special. She contributed to the Breast Cancer Foundation through many fundraisers.
In High School, I plan to take advanced classes and get a high GPA so I can attend a top university. I also hope to take an art class and build my artist side. In college, I hope to major in merchandise and fashion. In life, I plan to never give up on my dreams to become an interior designer and become successful. I never want to be negative and become a slacker in any job that I land. Also, I want to keep a tight relationship with my family and close friends. Life is a precious gift and I want to make my gift worth my while.
