A hero is somebody who you can look up to and call your role model. A hero must have certain traits in their personality, to make them a good person. I choose my hero as Selena Gomez. Selena had been made of, because of her heritage. She had been tormented for being half Mexican. Selena survived the cruel jokes and used it to inspire her to become a better person and not to judge others. She had begun her acting career on Barney when she was twelve. She now stars in her own Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place. She is an independent, mature, misunderstood, and powerful minor. She has overcome some of the worst things possible, racism. She can be considered a true role model. She is absolutely a true hero.

Selena's full name is Selena Marie Gomez. she was born on July 22nd, 1992. She was born in a New York City hospital. Selena's parents are Mandy Teefy and Ricardo Gomez. Her mother was also an actress. Selena was also an only child. Soon after she was born, her entire family moved to Grand Prairie, Texas. She spent almost all of her childhood there. Selena also had found herself a best friend with the same dream in mind. They are closer than imaginable. They both star in a movie that hasn't come out yet. It is called The Princess Protection Program. They both movie blog in a shared youtube account. Selena's family and friendships are a very powerful grasp on her life, and bases many decisions based on what they feel and think. They mean more than the world to her.

Selena Gomez has been an actress for almost all her life. She bean acting on an episode of Barney in back when she was twelve. She played in movies such as Spy Kids 3, Walker. Texas Ranger, What’s Stevie Thinking, Horton Hears a Who Another Cinderella Story, Brain Zapped , and Brain Zapped. Selena also guest starred in T.V shows such as Studio DC Almost Live, DC Games, Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Arwin. She now has her own TV show called Wizards of Waverly Place. She has obviously soared as an actress and has overcome so much obstacles in her 16 years of life. Every time she tried to get into an act she was able to chase and achieve her dreams at such an early age in life. She has to have an enhanced acting in her show. She acts as if she is the character.

Selena isn't only an actress, she's a singer too. In 2006 she sang the song Everything is Not What it Seems, in 2008 she sung Cruella DeVil, Tell Me Something I Don't Know, New Classic, Bang a Drum, and Fly to your Heart. These were all of her soundtracks. Selena did appear in the Cruella De Vil music video for Disneymania 6. She was also in the Tell Me Something I Don't Know music video for her own movie, Another Cinderella Story. Selena was in her song Fly to Your Heart music video for her Tinkle Bell soundtrack. She even appeared in the Jonas Brothers music video Burning Up. Selena obviously has a bright looking future up ahead in her singing career later on in her life.

Selena is an independent and unique person. She is definitely an inspiration.

Selena was first discovered by Disney in 2002. She was more different than any other person that had a chance to be a Disney star. She stood out and reached her dream the hard way. Now she went from an ordinary girl to a huge star. Paparazzi follows her her with every step she takes. Interview questions and pictures being shot at her all the time. She practically gets ambushed when she is out in public. She also would never lie about any question. She lives by one hundred percent the truth. In magazines she opens up about life experiences that she had suffered before. She is like many girls, at the awkward stage in life. Selena's background is what set everything aside and made her who she is today.

Selena isn’t somebody from only one background. She is half Italian on her Mom’s side and half Mexican on her Dad’s side. People made cruel jokes and inappropriate jokes. This made Selena’s childhood hard to live with. In an interview with Twist! Magazine, she says “I wanted to be like all my friends. I hung out with girls with blue eyes and blonde hair and thought I want to look like them!” At some auditions she said “I’d be in a room with a lot of blonde girls and I always stood out. It actually helped that I looked different, it got me where I am today!” Selena overcame the fact that people taunted her because of her heritage. She used the sad experience to help her achieve her dream.

To me, Selena has a very bright and successful future up ahead. She will most likely be in many big time movies of the year. Her amazing acting proves that being made fun of doesn’t mean that you give up on life. She learned that “If you fall off the horse, get up and hold it by the reins.” She proves that you can accomplish your dreams if you try hard enough and set our mind to it. Her singing career will probably kick up and start inching away from Disney star, to become a movie star. She will be idolized by people of all ages. She most likely will have an amazing breakthrough in singing and acting. She will be another humanitarian. She not only will be a hero, but to stay a hero as her entire life goes by her.
