Satoshi Tajiri |
My hero is Satoshi Tajiri. He grew up in Tokyo and loved bugs, which inspired him to create Pokemon. When I discovered Pokemon, I lost interest in fashion, and became more interested in strategy.

Satoshi’s personal life is very interesting. As a child, he collected bugs in his backyard and traded them with friends. After he graduated, he and his friends wrote and edited the magazine “Game Freak”. One day, while watching two children play the Gameboy, he imagined insects crawling through the connection cable. This led to the idea of Pokemon.
Satoshi created things that not everyone admires. When Pokemon first came to the world, it was a world wide phenomenon. Because Satoshi is both an author and a videogame designer, there are also Pokemon T.V. shows and books. Satoshi is still creating more than one hundred Pokemon at a time. Over time, people grew tired of Pokemon, either because it just became a little repetitive, or because the T.V. show became a little more “educational” due to a young audience. Though Pokemon has lost fans, it is still very popular in the videogame world.
Pokemon changed me greatly. Satoshi is my hero because Pokemon taught me to be creative, forget fashion, focus on important strategy, and self awareness. Pokemon helped me realize my niche in life, and I hope to complete all my goals.
Pokemon may not be as popular as it used to be, but it really helped my life. Satoshi is still creating new generations of Pokemon and probably won’t stop until the end. I will someday create videogames that teach people about themselves, maybe even a Guitar Hero for people with missing fingers!
