| Interview on Shaq VS show (T. Rose) |
What's a hero? A person who helps others, protects you and more. A hero isn't just Superman, or Spiderman, it can be anyone, a police officer, a teacher and maybe even a pet! Well my hero, is Shaquille O'Neal. Shaquille O'Neal is currently a professional basketball player, he plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Shaquille has played in the NBA since 1992, which is about seventeen years now.
| Interview on Shaq VS show (T. Rose) |
Shaquille O'Neal was born March 6, 1972 in Newark, New Jersey. He was nicknamed Shaq. Shaquille stands at 7 feet, 1 inch and weighs 325 pounds plus he is one of the largest players in NBA history. He first started getting star attention at Linton Middle School, at Fulda American High School during his time there, he made a record of 791 rebounds in his 1989 season for just one player. After graduating, Shaq decided to go to Louisiana State University where he studied in business. Shaq wanted to leave L.S.U. early so that he could pursue his NBA career. He was the first pick in the 1992 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. In 1993, Shaq was voted Rookie of the Year. When Shaq became a free agent, or player whose contract ended, he became interested in other things beside basketball, like rap music and acting.
Since the Basketball season has just started, Shaq travels with his team while leaving his homes in Lake Mary, Florida and in Miami. I chose Mr. Shaquille O'Neal as my hero because I think he's an amazing athlete, and he isn't just a typical NBA basketball player, not just because of his height or his records in his seasons. I chose Shaq because he's different and he truly cares about kids and people. Shaq has made a big influence in my life because he is a great athlete and it encourages me to improve in all the sports that I do. Plus Shaq inspires me because he takes on new sports on live television and helps children that have weight issues. Shaq is a great role model because he is an NBA all star and he helps people and just is an inspiring, intelligent person. There's just not a reason to not like Shaq. He's funny, athletic, and smart, that's why I chose Shaquille O'Neal as my hero.
