A hero is a person whom you admire as he or she is or was. Sometimes they save your life. Hi, my name is Jose Luis and this is my hero essay about someone that became a legend in soccer with Club Chivas. His name is Carlos “Salsita” Salcido.

Since he was a child, his talent with the ball has given him the chance to play in the 1st Mexican Soccer league with my favorite team, Chivas. He debuted on July 22, 2001. While playing in the Libertadores championship in 2005 and 2006, Salcido was scouted by other clubs. In 2004, he made his debut with the Mexican Selection team.

Later, he played in the Confederation Cup where, after taking the ball back in his own area, he ran more than 100 meters and scored a super goal. He made the jump to the European league after being scouted by Arsenal of England. He played the World Cup in Germany in 2006. After Argentina eliminated Mexico, Salcido returned to Mexico to play for Chivas. But a proporsal from Nederland forced him to stay in Europe. The same happened to other Mexicans, Pavel Pardo and Ricardo Osorio.

He now lives in Endoiven with club PSV Endoiven in Nerderland. In his first season on his new team he became their best defender.

The main reason why he is my hero is because of his position. It may be the most difficult on the team, because you can’t make mistakes or they cost you. That’s why I admire him. Carlos Salcido is my hero.
