Hugo Sanchez was born in Mexico City on July 11, 1958. He is one of the best Mexican players that has ever lived, and the most successful. He is my hero for many reasons. But he is also my idol because of all that he has done and accomplished. He has done amazing things that no one else has. Also he has scored some of the most amazing goals that anyone has ever seen. Also he is one of the most famous former players of the world. Anyone who knows and likes soccer knows about him. He is very famous.

Hugo Sanchez played with the Mexican national soccer team in a tournament called the 1975 Pan-American games which is atournament for national teams. Then he played in the 1976 summer Olympics. At the age of 18 Hugo signed as a youth player for a professional soccer team in Mexico called U.N.A.M. In just two years he became the top scorer with 20 goals. Then his team of U.N.A.M had an agreement with the San Diego Sockers to loan Hugo Sanchez. After his amazing seasons in Mexico with his 99 goals he Started his career in Europe. He started his career in Europe in Spain with Athletico De Madrid. He won a good amount of things over there like cups and awards. Then at this point he signed with one of the best teams in the world, he signed with Real Madrid. He was top scorer many times and he made them win many cups and many league titles. Then later on he continued his career and went to many good and famous teams. He ended his career with Athletico Celaya in Mexico and a great era ended.

His Mexican national team history is very good. He had 60 matches with 29 goals. Mexico did not participate in 2 world cups so he did not play in them. But he still had many good tournaments. His national career wasn't as good as his club career but everyone knows that he still would have done great.

Hugo Sanchez's Mexican international career was not fantastic but now he is doing something else with the national team. He is the coach of the Mexican national team. Hugo Sanchez had his first victory as the Head Coach of the Mexican National Team against Venezuela (3-1) in front of 67,000 Mexican national team fans in San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium. Hugo's first game in Mexico took place against Paraguay in Monterrey, Mexico on March 25, 2007. Mexico won 2-1. A few days later on March 28, 2007 Mexico defeated Ecuador 4-2 in Oakland, California at McAfee Coliseum. Then on June 2, 2007 they beat Iran 4-0 with a great game. He has coached teams in Mexico like U.N.A.M and Necaxa and won 2 championships with them. So he was very successful there.

A hero can be many things to many different people. It could be someone who saved your life or someone who helped you through a hard time in your life. But for me Hugo Sanchez is something else. He is the person who keeps me going and the person who makes me try hard and never give up. He is my inspiration to keep on going in soccer and school and to believe in myself. That is a hero to me.
