Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll was born on February 2, 1997 (current age 32 years old) in Barranquilla, Colombia. She is a singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and dancer. Her first language is Spanish but she also knows how to read and write in English, Portuguese and Italian. She plays guitar and harmonica. Shakira also appeared in Colombian telenovelas in 1995. Currently Shakira is living in The Bahamas with her fiancé Antonio De La Rua.

I see Shakira as a champion because since she was a child she worked really hard taking singing and dance lesson to become famous. She always strove to achieve what she wanted. She wrote her first poem when she was 4 years old called “La Rosa de Cristal” (The Crystal Rose). She starts singing at very short age, recording her first album when she was 13 years old, in 1990 So far she has recorded 6 albums, having sold more than 50 million. In 1995, she founded “Pies Descalzos” Foundation to help poor children around Colombia. Also she has won two Grammy Awards and seven Latin Grammy Awards.

I choose this person because I like her songs and her manner. Also she has done good things for people and for poor children. I can relate with her because her first language is Spanish and she went to a Catholic School when she was a child. She is also similar to me because she is an only daughter and has half siblings from her dad.
