Sharky

by Gibson from Los Angeles

I have a mailman. My neighborhood calls him "Sharky". You could not wish for a better mailman. He has been doing his job for over 15 years. He has been through a lot as a mailman yet he he still does his job.

Sharky has had some leg injuries because he paces around all day. He had to have a knee surgery and his recovery took awhile. After his recovery he came back and then had to have surgery on his other knee. He recovered and the neighborhood threw him a block party and everyone pitched in to get him an IPad. He loves the job so much that he decided to keep doing it.

Sharky is also really caring. Sharky knows everyone's sports teams and asks them how they did in their game. He is concerned about high school applicants and where they are going. He cares about all the kids and goes to some of their baseball games. Sharky is also a really positive guy and there are always positive vibes coming from him.

Sharky is also known and he knows everyone in the neighborhood. All the kids know him too. You might pass by him in the street and you'd stop to talk to him and he'd give the kids fist bumps. He knows when someone has died and he will tell you about and when and where the funeral is. He knows what religion you are so he does not get our holidays mixed up. You could say Sharky is "the big man on campus."

Sharky is so nice, caring, strong-hearted, and awesome. He had the leg injuries. He cares about everyone. And everyone likes him. I don't see how there could a better mailman.
