Will Smith was born in Philadelphia, on September 25, 1968. He first appeared on TV in a sitcom (funny television program) called "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." It was really popular, but he was famous even before that, mostly because of his music career, but he also acted in some movies before the TV show. He started as an MC in a hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jazz & the Fresh Prince, with his childhood friend Jeffrey Townes-Jazzy Jazz. They performed funny and radio-friendly songs, and won a Grammy in 1988, mostly because of the song "Parents just don't understand."

So his good music reputation gave him a chance in the television industry. In 1990 he appeared in "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." It launched his acting career, so as he was still doing the sitcom, he starred in one of the most successful movies in 1995 "Bad Boys."

After this film and the ending of ''The Fresh Prince'', Will's career soared. He was busy with the thing he loves, acting. He acted in Independence Day (1996), Men in Black (1997), then he played the leading role in films as Enemy of the State, Wild Wild West, Ali, Men in Black II, Bad Boys II and I, Robot. His most recent film is 2005's Hitch, and he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for playing the role of the boxer Mohamed Ali in the film about him-Ali. He also made soundtracks for some of his movies, like for Men in Black, the hit song Gettin' Jiggy With It. He signed a contract with Interscope Records and released a successful album Lost & Found in 2005. He also appeared at The Super Bowl in 2005.

Will has a son from a marriage with Sharee Zampino, who he divorced in 1995 and married Jada Pinkett in 1997. They have two children: Jaden Christopher Syre (born 1998) and Willow Camille Reign (born 2000).

Will Smith is the person I respect because he is so funny. He is known as one of the greatest actors because he got famous really quick. He is a rap singer a great comedian, parent and an actor too. He makes me laugh. This is why Will Smith is my hero. He invests his money in new projects like shows and movies, which is more respectable to me than spending it on just material things.
