Who doesn't know H.M. Soeharto? The most powerful person in Indonesia for 21 years, since 1967 until 1998. H.M. Soeharto was the second president of Indonesia. He is a courageous, smart, tough, and wise person.

H.M. Soeharto was born on 8th June 1921, in Kemusuk, D.I. Yogyakarta, Indonesia. His father was only a poor farmer there. But Soeharto was a hard worker and he had a dream to succeed. When he was young, he joined military troops from Japan and Dutch. He became a soldier and general. He received a lot of appreciation from many countries. Then, he became a President of Indonesia. Soeharto became a president since 12th March 1967. Indonesia was very successful under his control. He developed Indonesia so this country experienced a very good progress at that time.

H.M.Soeharto got married with Siti Hartinah (Tien), a young rich girl. They married on 26th December 1947 in Surakarta. They had six children, they are: Siti Hardijanti Rukmana (Tutut), Sigit Harjojudanto, Bambang Trihatmodjo, Siti Hediati Hariyadi (Titiek), Hutomo Mandala Putra (Tommy), dan Siti Hutami Endang Adiningsih (Mamiek). They are a very big and a happy family. But on 28th April 1996, his wife, Tien, passed away. After that, his career in politics was in disarray. Then, he retired from his position as a president on 21st May 1998. Finally, H.M. Soeharto passed away on 27th January 2008.
