My hero in my life would be my stepdad. Growing up as a young child my mom and dad got a divorce. Being young and not having a father that was with me every day or at every sporting event I went to was hard on me. After a few years my mother ran into the guy that was my dad's best man in his and my mom's wedding. Little did she know that he was going to be the man that became my hero and my stepdad.
As a year or so went by my mom and my stepdad finally got married. We moved in with him and started another family. As time went on, my stepdad taught me how to hunt, rope, and ride a horse, many things my dad couldn't have done. Every day after school he was teaching me something new. How to swing a rope properly, telling me to remember to hold it in my hands and let it glide through my fingers. After I had all that down, he was teaching me many other things I would have never learned if it wasn't for him, like cattle, the vaccinations you give them, and how to take care of them.
Without my step dad committing to two more children, my sister and I, and the two he has, I would have never got where I'm at now. Because of what all my stepdad has done for me, he has become my mentor in life and my hero, and I hope someday I could be as brave as he is and take on a big responsibility that would change my life like the one that changed his. And that is why my stepdad is my hero.
