Dr. David Suzuki

My hero is Dr. David Suzuki. He is an environmentalist who hosts shows such as The Nature of Things, Suzuki on Science and many others. He has also written many books like Wisdom of the Elders, It's a Matter of Survival and many more. He has fifteen honorary doctorates from universities in Canada. He also has many other honors including the ACTRA award and two Gemies for best host of a television series. He has many other awards, honors, and accomplishments.

David Suzuki was born in 1936 in Vancover. During World War II, he was interned with his family in a camp in British Columbia. When the war ended, he attended high school in London, Ontario. David graduated with honors from Amherst College in 1958. And in 1961 he earned his PhD in zoology from the University of Chicago. He lives with his wife, Dr.Tara Cullis, and his two children in Vancouver.

David helped to promote the Kyoto Protocol. The Kyoto Protocol is an agreement to help lower the greenhouse gases in the air that causes climate change. On December 10, 2001, the Kyoto Protocol was put into action.

Dr. David Suzuki is a host for many TV shows. He is also a big time enviromentalist. David is my hero because of all the things he has accomplished and for the many ways he has helped the Earth.
