Tim

Tim Boehm is an eleventh grade student who attends Carihi Secondary School in British Columbia. Tim was born in Los Angeles, California and moved to British Columbia when he was three years old. To this day, he keeps his dual citizenship. When he started grade one in the French Immersion program, Tim was quiet, but has since learned to be more outgoing and voice his opinions.

Tim has attained many accomplishments during his school years through sports, academics, as well as music. For three years in a row, Tim was the hardest trainer in summer swim club. Tim played soccer for 10 years, but was forced to quit after a knee injury at the beginning of grade nine. He is currently a soccer official for the local Youth Soccer Association. Tim was elected leader of Carihi’s student government in the spring of 2006 as a grade 10 student. Since the beginning of grade nine, Tim has received straight A’s every term. At the award ceremony in grade nine, he was presented with the “Norm Bunz” Award, which is for the best all-around student. Tim has played the trombone in the school band since grade seven, and received the “Honour Award” at a band festival. Indeed, Tim has a very well-rounded education.

There are several reasons Tim is “My Hero.” Over the past two years, he has set an invaluable example for me for school and social skills. Tim sets a great example of how to excel in school, and do your best in anything. As well as being my role model, Tim has been a great friend, someone to whom I can turn anytime for advice, or simply to talk to. When I have a conflict with friends or family, Tim helps me analyze the situation and determine a way to resolve the problem. When I am in a bad mood, Tim is there to lift my spirits and turn things around to look for a more positive outlook on life. I am very grateful to have someone to whom I can look up to, and who is always there for me when I need a friend.
