Vincent

My hero is not the kind of hero who has superpowers. My hero has made great films which have enchanted many children and adults. My hero is Timothy William Burton (born August 25,1958) a.k.a. Tim Burton. He is one of the most talented film directors of this century. His first film was a short motion picture named « Vincent », a stop-motion picture of ten minutes who tells the story of a little man named « Vincent » (1982), who is imprisoned in his room and who had imagined his own world where he was someone else. The universe was melancholic but it's also really funny and poetic and all the skills of Tim Burton have appeared in this story.

Beetlejuice

After this in 1988, he was asked to direct « Beetlejuice » (1988) played by Michael Keaton. This film which was a film for children has also amused the adults. It tells the story of two people who died in a silly car accident and became ghosts. A bunch of New Yorkers move in their house and the couple demands the service of Beetlejuice to make them leave. This comedy who talks nevertheless of death is really hilarious, the decoration and the costume are astonishing and every childs could have the chance to see one of the masterpieces of Tim Burton.

Jack

In 1993, Henry Selick directed « The nightmare before Christmas » based on a poem written by Burton when he was working in Walt Disney Studio. It tells the story of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, who is living in the city of Halloween and even if he is loved and respected by everyone, began to be bored to prepare Halloween every year. While he was in the forest, he discovered a tree who brings you in the town of Christmas and there he decided to propose to organize Christmas with the inhabitants of the town of Halloween.

Tim Burton has worked a lot in this project, the title expresses a funny nightmare, and even if the decoration and the characters are at the first point very scary, everything is really touching.

Tim has also directed « Frankenweenie » (1994), « Pee Wee's big adventure » (1985), « Batman » (1989), « Edward Scissorhands » (1990), « Batman returns » (1992), « Ed Wood » (1994), « Mars Attack! » (1996), « Sleepy Hollow » (1999), « Planet of the apes » (2001), « Big Fish » (2003), « Charlie and the chocolate factory » (2005), « the Corpse Bride » (2005) and has written « The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories ».

Tim Burton

Each film of him has something special. They were personal but anyone can enjoy them and even if his universe is black, it is first dreamlike environments, great characters and actors and beautiful stories. The most creative director has still a lot of projects so Tim Burton has not finished to make us dream and laugh in the cinema.
