Thomas Edward Burnett Jr.

by Angel from Tampico

Hello my name is Angel. I want to talk to you about a person that I can call a hero because he saved so many lives and a very important office (The Pentagon Office). I am interested in telling you what he did.

Thomas E. Burnett Jr. is a young man. He is 38 years old, when he was young he had a dream he wanted to be an entrepreneur and get paid 25,000 or more and have a company car. Now he has broken his goal. He is the vice president on the investigation of crimes and in terrorism. He was one of all the thousands of brave passengers on Flight 93 on November, 11, 2001 (9, 11, 1). He is the one who saved many people's lives (people on the flight and in the Pentagon offices).

"United Flight 93 Passenger - He was the senior vice president and chief operating officer of Thoratec Corporation, a medical research company. He and his wife Deena, married on April, 1992, were the parents of three girls. On September 11, 2001, he was flying home from a business meeting when terrorists took control of the plane; presumably with the intent of crashing it into a target in Washington, D.C. Burnett used his cell phone to call his wife four times. During their conversations he told her of the happenings on board the plane and she told him of the attacks on the World Trade Center. His last call to his wife ended with Burnett saying, 'We’re going to do something. I’ve got to go.'"
