My hero came from a small beginning to the successful man that he is today. He was born in the small town of Robertsdale, Alabama on November 1, 1960. He is known as Tim Cook. Yes, the the multi-millionaire and the CEO of Apple Inc. His father and mother both worked humble jobs as a shipyard worker and a homemaker. He has 2 brothers, of which he is the middle of them. In high school, he attended Robertsdale High School, where he graduated second in his class of 1978. He then went to Auburn University in Alabama, where he got a bachelor's degree, and later got his master's degree at Duke University. Right after his educational years, he went to work at IBM, where he moved up the ranks quickly. After 12 years, he became the COO of Intelligent Electronics. After 3 years he moved to The Compaq Computer Corporation, where he was the vice president of corporate materials. Just a mere 6 months later, he moved to Apple, where he was the COO, and later, when Steve Jobs died, he became the CEO and took over the legend of Steve Jobs, all of this info is stated by biography.com. A hero must possess the ability to give willingly, and handle pressure. Cook's dedication to work and willingness to give to those in need contribute to the title of a hero.

Tim Cook is dedicated to doing his work, for example, he saved a company by working harder than he should've changed our lives for the good. Shown here, "Tim Cook joined Apple Inc at a time when the company was struggling to survive. Within a year of his joining the company started registering profits and over the years became one of the largest information technology companies by revenue. Cook along with former Apple CEO Steve Jobs, is credited to have played a major role in the company's resurrection"("Who is Tim Cook?"). Tim Cook played a major role in one of the most important companies that we use daily. Without him, the company might of went through and not survived. This is the company that we all use for our iPhones, iPads, iPods, Macbooks, Apple Watches, and Macs. We use these these products daily, to help our lives, and make our lives easier for everyday use. "Apple also simplified its product lines, and cut the number of distributors and resellers. Macintosh users, who had been choosing cheap PCs from Dell and Hewlett-Packard instead of Apple products, started coming back. The change was extraordinary as a profit was turned in fiscal 1998.("Tim Cook." Newsmakers). He fixed a dead company with lots of work, so I find it really inspiration that a lot of work can pay off to get something like this company on the shelves of the top companies again, and he did work hard for it. This shows hard work for a company, and innovates our future a lot.

Cook also does a lot of charity work, donating a lot, and putting his wealth and hard working into good for others who are in need. "Tim Cook donated $50 million to Stanford hospitals, near Apple's Silicon Valley headquarters, including $25m for a new children's hospital in 2012. He also made a $50 million donation to the charity Product Red which works to combat health issues like AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria" ("Who Is Tim Cook?"). "In March 2015, he announced that he planned to donate his entire fortune to charity and stated that he would developer systematic approach to philanthropy"("Who Is Tim Cook?"). Tim Cook is a big charity worker, and paid $100m+ for healthcare. That is really selfless, since he doesn't have those diseases, and he is donating his own money to helm those in need. "Cook, who is close to becoming a billionaire, says he will pay for his nephew's college education, then donate the rest of his wealth to philanthropic projects, according to Fortune"(Yan). Tim Cook does a lot for charity, and donates his money and time, and sees it of much importance to help those who cannot help their disease, which shows selflessness, a necessary attribute for one to be called a hero.

Tim Cook is a really big inspiration to me. He has done so much for our lives. Everyday he pushes the world further into the world of technology. Without him, the world we have today would be so much more different, and the technology we have surely would not be the same. He has given us the technology to do everyday things that we all take for granted. This technology allows us to type easily online, share information like it's nothing, view our plans, and a lot more important things we do today.
