Thomas McLane Crutchfield

Mac was the best friend that my friends and I could have ever wished for. Although he died far before his time in a tragic incident on August 23, 2008, during tropical storm Fay, he is still in the hearts of all those who knew him. He was by far the funniest kid ever knew and he could always make me laugh. The amazing 12 year old juggled school, swimming, friends, and so much more before he passed on to heaven. He got up very early to go swim, went to school, and then headed back to the pool again, which is an extraordinary thing for anyone to accomplish every day. He always wanted to go to the Olympics, just like his hero, Michael Phelps. I am very sure to this day that he would have done it.

Now Mac can live with his other great hero, God, in heaven. We all love and miss our best friend. Mac, I am sure, is swimming in a gold-lined pool up in heaven and looking down on us, watching over his friends and family and making all of the angels bust out laughing from his great sense of humor.
