Trygve Flagtsad

by Sabrina from Laguna Beach

Trgve Flagstad is my hero because he saved millions of lives during World War Two. When he was eighteen he fought for Norway. He had a rough child because he grew up without a father. During kindergarten through Middle school he wasn't allowed to leave school, he went to a sleepover school.

When he was fifteen he lived on a little island, and he wanted to see his brother so he had to swim at least one mile. When he was growing up his mother wasn't able to take care of him, so his aunt Kirsten Flagstad took over from there.

Later on in his twenties he got married. Then later he had a son, and was a police officer in Germany for five years. In his fifties he got tired of being a police officer. While he was in Norway, he gave out firewood to the poor, and joined a group called the Odd Fellows and worked for Volvo. In his eighties he died of Pneumonia.

He is my hero because he helps people and doesn't take credit for it. He just feels like if he does the right thing it's not a big deal.
