Terry Fox

by Ulysses from Orillia

I've got to be positive. I've got all of Canada looking at me.

Terry Fox ran across Canada to raise money for cancer. He showed courage with an artificial leg. Every year people across Canada run in the Terry Fox Run to raise money for cancer research.

His birth date was July 28, 1958 and he was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Terry Fox went to university at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. As a young boy he played a lot of sports.

Terry's family influenced him because they helped him by going across the country with him on the run. Dick Traum helped Terry because he also had an artificial leg. He was like Terry Fox in that he played a lot of sports as well, and could do this with an artificial leg.

Terry Fox ran across Canada and didn't give up. He has courage because he ran across Canada when he had cancer so he had an artificial leg and helped kids with cancer believe in themselves.
