Terry Fox

What Terry Fox is! (I made it myself (me!))
What Terry Fox is! (I made it myself (me!))

I chose Terry Fox as my hero because he ran almost all the way across Canada through a marathon called the Marathon of Hope to collect a dollar from every citizen in Canada. The money would go to scientists to research cancer to find a cure to cancer. Also to make sure not just children but everyone who had cancer had hopes to the end of their cancer.

Terry Fox had a father, Rolly, a mother, Betty, older brother, Fred, a younger brother, Darrell, a younger sister, Judith. He used to set his mind and keep trying even if he didn't get it right. He and his friend Doug loved sports. When Terry got a pain in his right leg everything changed. He went to the doctor and the doctor said he had cancer and had to get it amputated. That happened when he was 18 going on 19.

Even though Terry Fox is gone, his name is still going on through our minds every day. He is the greatest Canadian. It is like whenever we have a Terry Fox run, there he is right next to us running in his own space. But when it is over he goes up back where he belongs in heaven, watching over us smiling when the principal calls out how much money we raised for cancer.
