My hero is Tim Lincecum. He is the starting pitcher from the San Francisco Giants. He was born on June 15, 1984 in Bellevue, Washington. He went to Washington College and in 2006 he was first round 10th pick for the San Francisco Giants.

He is my hero for several reasons. First because he plays for my favorite baseball team and plays one of my favorite positions, a pitcher. Another reason is because he has 261 strikeouts, 15 wins and only 7 loses in 2009. Tim has won 2 Cy Young awards during his first 2 years of playing. A Cy Young award is giving annually to the best pitcher in major league baseball.

When Tim was growing up he often made the All-Star teams but spent a lot of time on the bench. The reason why he did not get a lot of field time was because of his size and he rarely got a chance to play. This is something that I can relate to. Tim worked hard to prove he is one of the best pitchers to take the mound on a major league field. This is the reason why Tim Lincecum is my hero.
