My hero is named Takeshi Obata, he is the artist for my favorite manga "Death Note". He was born on February 11, 1969. His style of drawing is rare among shonen artists not only are his characters very detailed but they also fashionable and normally have nice clothes. His characters he draws often have trendy handbags, ties, or scarfs. He first became noticed in 1985, winning Tezuka Award for Kanen no shinwa. He also nominated for best artist for his work on Death Note.

The story of Death Note follows a student named Light Yagami, a high school student who finds a supernatural note book known as the "Death Note" dropped on the earth by a shinigami named Ryuk. The note book grants its user the ability to kill anybody just by writing their name in the book. He attempts to "cleanse the world of all evil" by murdering all criminals and eventually gets noticed by the police and a detective who calls himself L. They eventually they meet after L suspects that Light might be the killer known as "Kira" they are at a stand still through the story because light can't kill L since he doesn't know his name and L needs evidence to convict Light. The story follows these two as they try to discover each other's identities.

Takeshi is now 63 and still is drawing manga and writing. He has made many mangas like Cyborg Jii-chan, Arabian Majin Bokentan Lamp Lamp, Rikito Densetsu -Oni wo Tsugu Mono, Hikaru no Go, and Karakurizoshi Ayatsuri Sakon as an artist. Also Death Note, Blue Dragon Ral Grad, Hajime, Hello Baby, Uro-oboe Ouroboros, and Bakuman as an artist. He also helped make Castlevania Judgment with character design. He was nominated for Eisner Awards in 2008, and best Artist for his work on Death Note and Hikaru no Go.
