Theodore Roosevelt was born October 27, 1858 in New York, New York. Roosevelt was the 26th president of the United States of America. He was president from 1901 to 1909. Theodore was the youngest president at that time, at the age of 43. He loved to hunt, especially big game. Roosevelt created the National Park and saved some animals from extinction, because of poaching. Theodore Roosevelt also has a elk species named after him, the Roosevelt Elk. He died January 6, 1919 in Oyster Bay, New York. Theodore Roosevelt is my hero because he loved America, loved the outdoors, and thought about others.

Roosevelt was one of the best presidents in America because he did things for the good of the country. He didn’t let other countries or people push him around or change his mind. He stood for America and its people.

Roosevelt also loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt, especially for big game. He created the National Parks for the animals and people to enjoy. With the help of military force he also saved some animals from extinction by poachers. Theodore Roosevelt has a park named after him called Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. Many natural areas we enjoy today would not be possible without him and his leadership.

Theodore Roosevelt was thoughtful by making things so people could enjoy what he had the privilege to see. He helped the western hemisphere by finishing the Panama Canal. Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906 and he made decisions for the good of America.

Theodore Roosevelt was a rancher, hunter, conservationist, the 26th president, and a true American. He liked to write books. He was a passionate hunter and loved wild outdoor life which brought him strength and health. They even put his face on the side of a mountain. He is gone but like all great people is not forgotten. For these reasons, he is my hero.
