My hero is Ted Williams. He is my hero because he was a positive role model. He put others before himself. Also, he was a leader. Ted Williams was signed into the Major League at the age of 20 years old to the Boston Red Sox as a left fielder. In Ted Williams's life he has never had a batting average below .300 which is amazing. For every single year of his life he has never missed an All-Star game. Ted Williams was an amazing baseball player, one of the best hitters of all time and great at left field. Throughout Ted Williams' career he only played for the Boston Red Sox. This is why Ted Williams is my hero.

Ted Williams was a positive role model because he would always try to improve others skills instead of only working on his. He helped the Jimmy Fund, which supports and treats kids with leukemia because many died back in the 1920's to 1930's. This was one of the first charities for kids with leukemia. The reason why Ted helped the Jimmy Fund was because his brother Danny died of leukemia at the age of 9 and he was his only brother, and his younger brother. This is why Ted Williams was a positive role model.

Ted Williams puts others before himself. He puts others before himself because he interrupted his baseball career twice to fight in two big wars: the Korean War and World War II. This means that he put his country, and everyone in it, before himself. Sometimes, he let the rookies take his spot in the lineup and his position in the field. He also gave half of the saving he made from the Red Sox and donated it to their organization to help them with player acquisition and training. This is why Ted Williams puts others before himself.

Ted Williams was a leader. He was a leader because he lead his MLB team, the Boston Red Sox, to win a World Series title in 1964. Ted served in the Navy Marine Corps as a pilot in WWII and in the Korean War. He led his men into war in the Korean war. He was a colonel when he did that in the Navy as a pilot. He was a great leader because he won the Major League Player of the year five times. He also lead the all-star team in 1946 to win with his amazing hitting and his strong left field playing. Left field is one of my favorite positions. Ted also won the triple crown award twice in his career. This why Ted Williams was a leader.

Ted Williams was a great athlete and hero. He was a great hero because he was a positive role model, he put others before himself, and he was a leader. He was a positive role model because he helped a charity called the Jimmy Fund, he helped others with their skills, and he was honorably discharged from the Navy as a pilot. He put others before himself because he took out baseball playing time so that he could serve his country in WWII and the Korean War, he let rookies take his place sometimes in the lineup, and he donated half of his big amount of money to the Red Sox organization. He was a leader because he lead his MLB team to win a world series, he won Major League Player of the year 5 times, he lead the All Star team and he won 2 triple crowns, and he lead his men into war as a colonel. This is why Ted Williams is my hero.
