Troy Aikman

To, me a hero is someone that makes a difference in people's lives. My hero is Troy Aikman and he made a difference in all the Dallas Cowboy fans' lives around the world. He was probably the best quarterback that ever played for the Dallas Cowboys. Troy made it to the NFL Hall of Fame and now he is a sportscaster for Fox television. He is also a joint owner of the Nascar Sprint Cup.

My hero is Troy Kenneth Aikman. He was born on November 21, 1966 in West Covina, California. He lives in Dallas, Texas today, but he use to live in Henryetta, Okalahoma where he attended Henryetta High School. This is were his athletic career started. After high school the New York Mets offered Troy a contract to play for them, but Trot decided to pursue his football career instead and attended the University of Oklahoma under head coach Barry Switzer. There he played for the Oklahoma Sooners for two years after that he transfered to UCLA and played for the UCLA Bruins for four years. After college he was a first round round pick in the 1989 NFL Draft.

During his professional career with the Dallas Cowboys he inspired and made a difference in all the Dallas Cow boy Fans around the world with his three Super Bowl victories (1992, 1993, and 1995)and his six consecutive Pro Bowls (1991-1996). In 1992 he was named the Super Bowl MVP from completing 22-of-30 passes for 273 yards with 4 touchdowns. He was also named All-Pro three times. In 1997 he was given Walter Payton Man of the Year award and in 1998 he was given the Davey O'Brien Award. Then on April 9, 2001 he announced his retirement from the NFL. After his retirement he became a sportscaster for Fox and won an Emmy Award for his TV work.

Troy Aikman inspired me because I am a major Dallas Cowboys fan. He has also inspired me by teaching me to never give up and just keep going. Also, he has the Troy Aikman Foundation which is a charity to build playhouses for children hospitals. He is also an advocate of reading, he read Dr. Seuss to children in the White House. That is how Troy Aikman inspired me.

Troy Aikman is someone who made a difference in peoples lives. He changed the lives of all the children in the hospitals he made a playhouse for. He also made a difference in all the Dallas Cowboy fans around the world. In conclusion, Troy Aikman is my hero and he should be everyone else’s. Thanks for reading my story.
