Troy drops back to pass.

A hero to me is somebody who is a good influence on the world. They also have to have a good attitude in everything they do. A hero is somebody someone looks up to , or wants to be like when they grow up. My hero I will be writing about is Troy Aikman. The reason I chose Troy to be my hero is, he is a good influence on the world. He also is a professional football player. That is why I chose Troy Aikman to be my hero.

In 1991 Troy pledged to match any funds that were raised to build a health and fitness center in his home town for the schools of Henryetta, Oklahoma. (Henryetta is a small town of 6,000 people.) The center was built and the town named a street after him. Troy also sponsors a scholarship at Henryetta High School for students who want to attend college, but cannot afford it.

Troy also set up a permanently endowed scholarship at UCLA where he attended college and studied Sociology. He also set up the Troy Aikman Foundation which benefits children's' charities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He set up an annual golf tournament in 1992 which gives its proceeds to that foundation. He authored a children's book entitled Things Change, which was published in 1995. Proceeds from that book also go to the foundation.

Troy and his foundation made a donation to Dallas that helped fund AIKMAN'S END ZONE, a large (2400 square foot) interactive playroom and education center for children staying at the hospital.

As you can see there are many reasons why I chose Troy Aikman to be my hero. He is a role model in life, little children look up to him. They want to be like him when they grow up. These are the reasons I chose Troy Aikman to be my hero.
