Tessa Virtue was born on May 17, 1989 in London, Ontario. Out of 4 children she is the youngest and the only one that loved skating. Tessa Virtue started skating at six and her reason behind skating at such a young age was because she didn’t want to be the only one on a school field trip that didn’t know how to skate. Tessa Virtue is currently 18 and attends the University of Windsor studying for a degree in psychology. She also attended Holy Names High School in Windsor, Ontario. Tessa Virtue’s official residence remains in London Ontario, but she makes Canton, Michigan, USA her home for right now. Tessa Virtue still continues to skate and train with Scott Moir her current ice dance partner whom she has known for 10 years. The two 2010 Winter Olympic Ice Dance champions said that knowing each other for so long gives them a bit of an advantage.

Tessa Virtue has competed in many different ice dance events with her partner Scott Moir, another ice dancer. I am very proud that Tessa Virtue is a Canadian. Virtue and Moir have won Bronze medals at the 2006 Colorado Springs Four Continents Championships and the 2007 Colorado Springs Four Continents Championships. They also won a bronze at The 2009 World Championships. They have also won a lot of silver medals in ice dance competitions. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir also won silver medals in the 2004-2005 Junior Grand Prix Final in Helsinki,the 2005 World Junior Championships,2009-2010 Grand Prix Final in Tokyo 2009 Four Continents Championships in Vancover and the 2008 World Championships in Gothenburg. Tessa Virtue is a truly extraordinary person who continues to strive in ice dance. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir have won 3 Bronze medals , 5 Silver medals and also 5 gold medals. Keep up the hard work, Tessa. One thing you should know about Tessa Virtue is that she helped make an Olympic record for Canada when she and Moir took home the gold at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Virtue and Moir have also won gold medals in the 2005-2006 Junior Grand Prix Final in Ostrava , the 2006 World Junior Championships in Ljubljana the 2008 Four Continents Championships Goyang and the 2010 World Championships in Turin. Tessa Virtue has been skating with Scott Moir since they were young and are currently skating together today. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir recently won the 2010 Olympics with an amazing duet for ice dancing. Scott Moir was born September 2, 1987 in London Ontario. Tessa Virtue was also born in London Ontario. Just 2 years apart and a perfect couple, Tessa Virtue being 21 and Scott Moir being 23.The couple has continued to skate together and hopefully still will for many years to come. Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue are very skilled on ice and with all of the practices that they do, know wonder they were able to win a gold in ice dance at the 2010 Olympics.

Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue met at a skating camp when Tessa was only six and Scott was only nine years of age. Scott and Tessa were very shy when they were paired up for the first time in skating and after two whole years of skating in partners together, Tessa and Scott started getting much more comfortable skating together as a couple. From there on Tessa and Scott have built a very strong relationship as very close friends. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir have said that having known each other for so long gives them an advantage. Their very close relationship makes it easier to train. Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are very comfortable together on ice and that makes for a great performance.
