My Mom, Tamara Beatrice Bender is my hero because she does so much for our family. She cooks, cleans, is caring and still has time to have fun with us, and those are only some of the reasons she is my hero. When my Mom, Tamara was a little girl she lived in Medicine Hat. She had one sister named Bianca. She traveled with her Mom, Dad and sister a lot. They went to lots of places in their trailer. The places were very educational. She lived in Medicine Hat for all of her childhood. That is another reason why she is my hero, because she is smart.
When my Mom hit her prime years she was super hard working but still knew how to have a good time. She spent lots of time helping friends and getting good grades. She lived in Medicine Hat until she was 20. She had many good times while in Medicine Hat. She met Ed Bender at a 50th wedding anniversary when she was 19. She refused to dance with him. A year later she moved to Calgary and asked my Dad out on a date. This proves that she is willing to give second chances. That is another reason why she is my hero.
My mom married Ed in 1989. She then had a baby girl named Jasmine, a boy named Travis, and me (Austin). My mom works for the City of Calgary and she helps prepare Property Tax Assessments. She has been working at the City of Calgary for 20 years. Tamara and Ed built their house in Springbank in 1988. Tamara and Ed intend to live there forever.
Tamara changed her last name to when she married my Dad. Her nickname is Tami. When she was a kid she had a hamster named Ernie and a cat named Tigger. Ernie escaped from his cage and lived in a cupboard in the kitchen for 3 months. In the summer Ernie would tunnel under the sand in Tami’s sandbox. Tiger (the cat) got in a fight with a skunk and had to have a bath in tomato juice. Tigger died at the age of three.
Tamara’s sister's name is Bianca. My mom got angry because she had to bring her little sister everywhere. Tami and her sister Bianca went and caught minnows and frogs in the spring and summer. In the summer they would go to the pool everyday. Tami rode her bike almost everywhere. Tami’s friends were Maureen, Kevin, Sandra, and Lorna. She still keeps in touch with them. Tami’s favorite book was Charlotte’s Web. She loved to go the library and read. Tami loved to do plays for little kids in the theater at the public library. She is a very forgiving person and does lots for family and friends, and that is why she is my hero.
