Johnny was born was born February 13, 1967. He grew up without a mom while he was growing up because she was kidnapped and killed. After, that he lived his with his grandparents but Johnny was doing drugs at the time until one of his friends told him about boxing. Johnny tried it and he liked it so he started boxing for Wells Park Community Center in downtown Albuquerque.
Just 3 years ago he found out who killed his mother. Also, when Johnny Tapia was only 8 years old he was in a bus that drove off a one hundred foot cliff and a woman sitting next to Johnny was hurled out of the window and died. Johnny was thrown out the same window but survived. Now he’s a world famous boxer he has a famous saying: “mi vida loca” “my crazy life” - that’s Johnny's famous saying.
He’s my hero because he inspired me to start boxing and so far I’ve won the Golden Glove Championships for three years & running. My record is (53-0-4) and I’ve only lost four times in five years.
In conclusion is that Johnny is my hero because he turned his life around from being a drug addict to being a famous boxer and Albuquerque’s prize boxer.
