My hero is Mother Taresa. Mother Teresa was a Nobel Peace Prize winner. Born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in 1910 in Skopje, Yugoslavia, she joined the Sisters of Loreto in 1928. She took the name "Teresa" after St. Teresa of Lisieux, patroness of the Missionaries. She is celebrated worldwide as a saint for her contribution to the world.
Mother Teresa did a lot to have the status that she achieved. She devoted a large portion of her life to helping the poorest of the poor, especially in Calcutta, India, one of the poorest areas in the world. Mother Taresa joined the Sisters of Loreto who helped, and continue to help, the poorest of people all around the world. With missions worldwide, the Sisters of Charity minister to the poor on six continents and work to "shower love and a helping hand to all who need it."
Mother Teresa traveled often, but she spent most of her time in the slums of Calcutta, undoubtedly one of the poorest cities on the planet. She was born in 1910 and she died on September 5, 1997, in her convent in India.
"I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world." This is a quote from Mother Teresa that shows how courageous she was. Mother Teresa sacrificed her life in a spirtual sense to help others. For over 50 years, she worked selflessly helping the poor. I think Mother Teresa was courageous in what she did because she stood up and did what everybody dreams about doing: she made the world a better place.
Mother Teresa is important to me because she accopmlished so much in her life, selflessly. She especially helped the needy in my home country of India so I have a greater deal of respect for her. I have witnessed how the poor can be ignored in some countries and how much effort and love it takes to help them. Mother Teresa is my hero because she did uncountable good for the world and she did it all selflessly.
"Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go."
