Tiara Lestari

Tiara Lestari was born in Solo on 10 October 1980. She is Indonesian. She is the first child from three children. Two years ago, she decided to fly to Singapore and join with one of the model agencies in Singapore. She is serious with that job and so professional because modeling has been her passion and profession.

One day, she got an opportunity to be on the cover of Penthouse Thailand and Penthouse Holland Magazine. She was successful. After that, she got an opportunity to be on the cover of Playboy Magazine in Spain on August 2005. And then the controversy began.

As we know, Indonesia took the culture of the East. So they don’t like sexual things like being on the cover of sexual magazines - for example, Penthouse and Playboy. Pro and contra was coloring the day by day of Tiara but she still has her spirit. But because her mother is disappointed with what she did, she decided to go back to her hometown in Indonesia. She is really sorry to her mother because she made the wrong decision be on the cover of Playboy Magazine. Tiara was so sad because she saw her mother cry.

Now, she wants change her image. So she made a photo gallery with the title “From Sensual To Elegance.” She hopes that with that gallery, people can change their mind about her. She promised that she wouldn’t take a request for a sexy pose again, even though it can give her big popularity and a lot of money.

She is my hero because she still has her spirit after what happened to her. That makes me proud of her. And she realized her fault that she made her mother disappointed and sad. She also wasn't ashamed to say sorry to the Indonesian people that dislike what she did. That mistake guides her to see through changes, places, and faces. She is a hard worker too. She really wants to change her image. She always tries to do best. Actually I think what she did wasn’t wrong because she did it with art and professional. But as we are Indonesian people, we still have rules in our lives like listening to what other people say about us — their opinions are important to us because it can make us be a better person. I hope that Tiara Lestari will be a better model and a good person in everything she does.
