Tracy

by Jessica from Glenbrook

“We could never learn to be brave and patient, if there were only joy in the world." ~ Helen Keller

My ski racing coach Tracy is my hero. Every time I get discouraged Tracy is by my side telling me I can win the race. When I see her she is always making a little kid feel better. She is a great instructor. Tracy is kind and helpful; she sets a great example.

Tracy grew up in San Francisco, where she learned to ski at age five. Tracy lived in a skiing family. She raced for a high school in Switzerland, and raced on a varsity team in college. Now Tracy is married and she has three great kids. Tracy loves to coach. She wants to be there for us in every way she can.

During the week, Tracy is involved in three start-up companies, besides being a full-time mother. Tracy likes parties with food and wine, and going to the beach. Tracy’s favorite parts of skiing are being outside, participating with ski racing, spending time with her family and friends, and coaching the Ascutney race team. Our team would be nothing but ski racing without her. Tracy is one of our only coaches who does not make us train the whole day.

Tracy is a great lady that I am honored to be coached by. Tracy loves her life and enjoys learning something every day. Tracy means a lot to me. I can’t imagine ski team without her.
