Trung Sisters (http://www.anviettoancau.net/html/capnhat_5/haibatrung.jpg) |
Today, I write about Trung sisters, Trung Trac and Trung Nhi. They were two first century Vietnamese women leaders who successfully repelled Chinese invasion for three years, and are regarded as national heroines of Vietnam. That is why I want to write this story for my true hero.
The Trung family name was originally Lac. Their mother's name was Man Thien. Trung sisters' father died, their mom was teaching them kungfu, and taught Trung Trac and Trung Nhi to love their country. Trung Trac was the wife of Thi Sach from Chu Diem City.
As that time, the government was commanded by To Dinh. To Dinh, who was the lord of the small country, and was a master in kungfu, and didn't care about anything. Trung Trac also hated To Dinh for killing her husband. Trung Trac was mad when she heard her husband died by To Dinh. She therefore, along with her sister Nhi, captured the commander's capital. To Dinh was forced to run away. They were able to win over sixty-five cities and the captured officers declared Trung Trac and Trung Nhi to be queens.
In the spring, the first month, Ma Vien, a Chinese captain, followed the coastline and entered Sui Mountain. The king of China told Ma Vien to kill the Trung sisters. He battled with Trung Trac and Trung Nhi, who saw the biggest enemy's army. She considered her own army to be trained, and feared that it could not stand. Therefore, she withdrew to Jin River. Her followers also thought that the queen was a woman and could not be victorious, and therefore scattered. Her kingdom ended.
From that day, Trung sisters were great Vietnamese leaders in everybody's hearts in Vietnam. In Hanoi, Hatay, then Vinhphu there are the streets named after them. Then I think they were great heroes; many people think like that too.
