David Tua

by Adney from

Standing at 5 ft 10" and at 253 pounds, this famous boxer from Western Samoa is fighting to become the world's best boxer. If you couldn’t guess who this Samoan boxer is then I will have to tell you. David Tua is my hero. He is a boxer who has struggled and yet has never given up on anything. He has two nicknames that the boxing association calls him by, “The Tuaman” and ”The Terminator.” Of all the other Samoans that I know, I pick David Tua as a hero.

Some of the reasons why David Tua is my hero are that when he was training to be a boxer his family and other people that were close to him thought that he would not be a boxer because of his personality. I guess he proved his family that they were wrong because he made it to being a professional boxer. That encouraged me to follow my dream because David Tua followed his dream and he got it. As he fights to be the #1 boxer, he has accomplished so much already, winning most of his fights thus far: 42 matches won, 3 lost, and only 1 draw.

His accomplishments have led him to win different titles. One of the titles was the WBO title. He also won the WBA title. He also won titles from both heavy weight and lightweight division. His accomplishments have made him a role model for all Samoan people and especially for me.

David Tua has become my role model because of his hard work and for a lot of other reasons. One of the many reasons is that when he was in Samoa he told the crowd at the stadium to "go for your dream" and he also said "never fear the unexpected."

As he fights to become the best boxer he has a lot to do. Now you know that David Tua is my hero and that there are a lot of reasons why he is a good boxer. I hope that you would consider David Tua and your hero and especially your role model.
