A hero cares, supports, and provides for peoples’ needs. Our hero is an organization called the United Way. The United Way collects money from individuals and businesses. Over three and one half million dollars was collected in 2009 by the United Way of the Ozarks. The money was then given to specific organizations who serve the community. Some of these organizations are Boys and Girls Club of the Ozarks, RSVP, Habitat for Humanity, and the YMCA. Last year more than 23 organizations in the Ozarks were supported with United Way monies. The United Way of the Ozarks supports programs in fourteen surrounding counties in and around the Reeds Spring area and all located in southwest Missouri. The United Way positively impacts communities across the world.
