My hero is Usher. He’s a Rhythm & Blues person. He writes songs like “My Way.” Usher is a skilled and creative artist, he’s fearless, and he gives back to his community. Usher was born October, 14, 1978, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He sang in a church choir but he says he was mostly inspired by the Jackson 5. He worked when he was twelve years old. He won a talent show called Star Search on TV. Then a record producer signed him to a contract. He made an album called My Way. His mom, Jonetta, is his manager.

Usher is very talented. He was a Broadway actor in a play named, Chicago. This shows he has a range of talent. He is a singer. He is so creative he writes his own music.

Usher is fearless. He tries new things. He is a businessman. He started his own record label. He did a fragrance line. He has a clothing line. Usher even became a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2005.

Usher started the New Look Foundation. It helps kids become hard workers and more successful in school. It also gives kids leadership training. Kids find out about world problems and learn to be leaders. It also educates youth about the business of entertainment management. The New Look Foundation helped rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

Usher is my hero because he is a good musician and has the courage to try new things. I learned about his life because he did a lot of music writing and record making.
