Vic Fuentes

My Hero is Vic Fuentes. He is the lead singer of the band Pierce the Veil, it is a major inspiration to lots of teenagers and young adults. Their songs include 'Hold On 'Till May', 'Bulletproof Love', 'Chemical Kids and Mechanical Brides', etc. Pierce the Veil has three albums: A Flair For the Dramatic (2007), Selfish Machines (2010) and Collide with the Sky (2012). Collide with the Sky is the first album produced by the major music label Fearless Records; who has produced music for other bands such as Mayday Parade, Forever the Sickest Kids, Plain White T's, and The Summer Set. Their third album was a huge success.

Vic is thirty years old, he was born in 1983 and his birthday is February 10th. Him and his younger brother, Mike (also in Pierce the Veil) grew up in San Diego, California. Vic went to San Diego State University, and he came up with the name Pierce the Veil in sociology class. His professor mentioned 'piercing the veil', meaning to go to the root of a problem and removing it from the source. Fuentes like the concept of stopping things that hurt you before they have a chance to build up, and so Pierce the Veil was born. He is the group's primary song writer. He realized that he liked making music, and explained that making something real was kind of like a drug.

Vic has suffered from depression and self harm, and he writes songs about it, kind of. His music helps a lot of people, including me. The songs he writes for the band are influenced by his experiences, and the other members comply by making good music for it. On December 13th, 2013, they announced that they have started writing a new album that is set to be released sometime in 2014. Pierce the Veil has gone on many worldwide tours since the release of A Flair For the Dramatic, and they have toured with various bands such as A Day to Remember, All Time Low and Bring Me the Horizon.

Vic is my hero because he makes great music, and he is a good person. He has made a good living off of doing what he loves, and has made great friends, and helped many people. I look up to him for all these reasons.
