Vincent Iannelli

by Kailee from Mission Viejo

“With my strong interest in pediatrics and the Internet, I think that I can help pediatricians and parents find the resources they need to help care for their children.”

I first became aware of my hero when I realized that I wanted to be a pediatrician. Vincent Iannelli is a great doctor/pediatrician, but not only has he been a great pediatrician, he also wrote a book called “The Fathers First Year Book.” He has also written many other books. He doesn’t only help kids when they're hurt, he helps them stay healthy and active by writing books on telling parents how to keep their kids in shape. What attracts me to him is that he is so into his work and really tries hard to help everyone as much as he can. He is an inspiration to a lot of doctors and pediatricians out there. In his career he really likes to be the best it seems like. In his career I admire that he works hard and his hard work pay off because from what I read he is a very talented pediatrician.

Vincent Iannelli is a doctor who specializes in pediatrics. Being a pediatrician isn’t easy considering your very big variety of things to do including collecting medical history, ordering tests, administering treatment, and explaining procedures. The training for being a doctor is very hard work. This career path requires finishing all four years of college and having bachelor’s degree in “pre-med.” You must also take the MCAT, the test for you to go to a medical school and then go to a 4 year medical school. Most people would like to take a kind of a combined college/medical school curriculum that takes six years versus the traditional eight years. Four years of college and medical school is a lot, so some medical school try to break it down. Typically if anyone would like to be a pediatrician, they would do a residency/internship for 3 to 5 years. I know you're thinking it is a lot of work to be a pediatrician but you make a lot of money. The usual salary is $120,000 to $160,000, depending on what area you work in.

As a young kid he always wanted to be a pediatrician. He attended medical school at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and went to Dallas to complete an internship and residency at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. He is also the editor and medical expert for several parenting books on overweight children, childhood illnesses, autism, getting babies to sleep, and cooking for babies and toddlers. He was also featured in a lot of magazines called Baby Talk, Redbook, Home Life, ePregnancy, and My Family Doctor. As a high school student Vincent already knew that he wanted to be a pediatrician so he took classes like English, math, biology, chemistry and any other sciences his high school offered for him to take. This all helped him become everything that he is today and helped him become the doctor he has always wanted to be.

My hero contributes to society a lot because he is a doctor and person who helps other people survive. He is not just a doctor; he majors in pediatrics to help young children. He is very involved in his career, he loved helping kids stay healthy and fit. He even writes books to help parents keep their kids healthy and in shape. Besides the book especially for fathers, he wrote a couple more called “The Everything Parent's Guide to Childhood Illnesses” and ”The Everything Parenting an Overweight Child.” He has helped the society a lot because there are kids that could have died or were very sick and he helped them become better.
