Vince Wilfork

by Liam from Los Angeles

Many people may be wondering who Vince Wilfork is and why I picked him for my hero project. Vince Wilfork is a brave and courageous man that saved a 38 year old women from a devastating car crash. If it wasn't for Vince, the woman could have died or had major injuries. Vince Wilfork is better known as a defensive lineman for the New England Patriots. He has a great soul, mind, and place in his heart for all of his teammates and opponents.

From the beginning of his life Vince was a loyal and kind boy. He was born in Boynton Beach, Florida on November 4, 1981. Later in life he continued his education in Santaluces Community High School. There he played football for the Chiefs. Vince was a great student with a 3.4 GPA. He was accepted in the University of Miami and like in high school he played on the football team.

At the University of Miami he was was ranked 11th on the Hurricanes for tackling. Vince was an amazing football player in college and that lead him to the 2004 NFL draft. The New England Patriots selected him in the first round and have had him for 11 seasons. Vince has an amazing record with 47 tackles and 1 interceptions just this season. He has also just won the Super Bowl and has been selected into the Pro Bowl bowl 5 times: 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Although Vince Wilfork is a great football player, there is more to his story. Late one night after their win at the AFC championship game he saw a tipped car. As he approached he noticed that the driver was trapped and could not get out. When State Troopers arrived they said that Vince lifted her out as one trooper opened the top car door. As a result of Vince's bravery the woman was rescued. The woman was charged with driving under the influence and negligent operation of a motored vehicle.

In conclusion, Vince Wilfork is a hero because he unselfishly saved a women's life in a dangerous situation. He used his natural strength and trained football talents to rescue a woman in need. He not only saved the woman's life but he saved the grief and sadness of her family. Vince Wilfork might even be my favorite player, but he is definitely my favorite hero. https://www.google.com https://www.wikipedia.org http://www.vincewilfork75.com/foundation
