Vincent J. McMahon

by Norman from Prescott, Ontario

Vincent (Vince) James McMahon Sr. is my hero because he founded first CWC, second WWWF, and then WWF (Now WWE). He was born July 6th 1914 (in Harlem, NY) died May 24th 1984 (age 69) North Miami, Florida. He was 6 foot and weighed 220 pounds. He had an older brother, Roderick Jr., and a younger sister, Dorothy.

Vince’s Company dominated professional wrestling in the 1950s and 1960s. It was most popular in the Northeast. His control was mostly in Baltimore, New York, and New Jersey. He had an eye for talent and for "booking" the matches that would lead to the most excitement for the fans. In 1955, Vince McMahon was the first person to put professional wrestling on television; it aired on Wednesday nights in Washington D.C.

Vincent (Vince) James McMahon Sr. is my hero because if he hadn't founded WWE I would have nothing to watch Monday, Thursday, Friday and some Sundays. I would be bored at 9:00p.m Monday, 8:00p.m Thursday, Friday and some Sundays. Also he has helped many people by providing entertainment and jobs for many people. One more reason he is my hero is that he “passed the torch” to his son (Vincent K. McMahon JR) to keep the business going.

Vincent James McMahon Sr. is my hero for the reasons I said before. Also he was inducted into WWF Hall of Fame (1996) and inducted into Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum (2004). That is why Vincent James McMahon Sr. is my hero.
