My hero is Vincent Paul Young, Jr., quarterback in the NFL. Vince is a great football player, and he inspires many, including me. He was the former quarterback of the University of Texas Longhorns. He is currently in the rookie camp of the Tennessee Titans. In college he wore the #10 and with the Titans he has chosen the same number. He was the 3rd selection in the 2006 NFL Draft, finishing second in the Heisman trophy ballot.

My hero has done what many people consider impossible. At 7 years of age, he survived a handle bar going through into his stomach. He was riding his bike near his home, and a car hit him. He also won the National College Football Championship in 2006 by scoring a touchdown with 19 seconds left against the University of Southern California Trojans. In his hometown of Houston, January 10th was proclaimed Vince Young Day. He also received the MVP of the National Championship game. The year before he also won MVP of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

My hero was born in Houston, Texas on May 18, 1983. He then moved to Austin where he attended the University of Texas. Now he resides in Nashville, Tennessee where his NFL team plays. He attended Madison High School in Houston. He still credits his high school coach for his mentoring. Vince is a big hero in his hometown, and he probably will be in Nashville.

His mother and grandmother primarily raised him. He joined in a gang when he was young, but his mother and grandmother taught him not to. He thanks them for keeping him away from drugs and crime. He is not married.

This person is important to me because he is a great quarterback who used to play to for one of my favorite colleges. He also has received many awards including 2003 Freshman of the Year and was named the number one prospect in 2002. He also holds many records. In high school he compiled over 7,000 yards. He is compared to Michael Vick as a dual threat quarterback. That means he is a quarterback who can run and pass well. In my opinion, he is a very versatile player. He is going to have a great career in the NFL. Vince Young is a great athlete, but in my opinion a better person because of his characteristics. Some characteristics are trustworthiness, humility, and awareness. He was a great leader for his time in college. He also avoided drugs and crime when he was young. Above all he inspires others, people just like me.
